Remote Desktop

Thin client technology allows your users to access any windows application from a central server. This technology allows your users better performance and application stability.

In a typical new user scenario a new computer would have to be purchased and all of the users applications would have to be installed locally on their computer. If this same user needed remote access, the same process would have to occur on their remote system, which often means another company computer needs to be purchased.

With thin client technologies, like Citrix XenApp and Microsoft Remote Desktop, application deployment is simple. After a centralized application server is in place, all that is necessary is to install a “thin client” on the users computer. Once installed, all of their applications become available automatically. None of the applications need to be installed locally to a workstation. This saves time, increases uptime and improves performance.

New Eve Technologies, Inc. technicians have been helping companies with thin client application access for over 15 years. Because of our extensive experience we can help deploy a new thin client system or improve your existing system with the implementation of our thin client best practices procedures.

We have helped some of the country’s largest companies deal with; optimizing system stability, streamlining printing and enhancing user profile access.

Security

When hundreds of user applications are centralized on several central servers, security becomes a major concern. Our thin client technicians are skilled at making applications work in a secure environment.

Many other companies implement a thin client environment based on Citrix XenApp or Microsoft Remote Desktop. When application issues occur in the system, a common solution is to simply add administrator privileges to all users. Our engineers are trained with time tested procedures  to isolate the user rights necessary to run the application, not just applying full system privileges to everyone to resolve issues.

In addition to server security, we also are experts in making sure the right security is applied to the transmission channel to the client. If applications are accessed over the internet and the information is sensitive, we can implement SSL based encryption and also implement one time password authentication for your users.

Combining smart security principles into your thin client environment can improve stability, ease of access and the security of your entire network.

Easy  Access

When we assist companies with their thin client implementations we pay special attention to simplifying access for the users. There are many ways to allow access, including internet web access to applications.
We can customize preconfigured clients, so that users only need to download and double click a simple install for access. In addition, we can implement a web access server, where users login to a web server, then the client is automatically deployed to their system and their application appear.

Remote Client Performance

A business critical reason to implement a thin client solution is to optimize performance over low bandwidth connections. Generally,  applications run fine over a LAN with 100mbps, 1GB or 10GB connections. But what about your remote offices which are sometimes connected by 1.5mbps or lower speeds?

Our thin client solutions allow remote users to access applications over as little as 56KB. Years ago our engineers have even implemented solutions that deliver acceptable solutions over dialup at 14.4kbps!

High Availability

Once a thin client infrastructure is in place, many of our customers want to absolutely minimize downtime. Doing so requires expertise in system load balancing and failover.

Our technicians have assisted in the implementation of redundant thin client system that support thousands of users.

Hardware Optimization

Our technicians can also help combine thin client solutions into a secure highly available solution built upon server virtualization technology built on Citrix XenServer.

With systems built on the Citrix XenServer platform, our customers get the benefit of seamless hardware upgrades, optimal hardware utilization and better performance through optimization algorithms for thin client built within the platform.
